Nigerian Celebrities Who Lost Their Sons

This year has been eventful, and while many amazing things have happened, Nigerians, both fans and celebrities alike, have had their fair share of losses. The death of Ifeanyi, the son of music star Davido, has left Nigerians speechless and in tears.davido

Since the news broke at the start of the week, everyone has expressed how painful and sad his loss is. So here are Nigerian celebrities who have lost their sons;
1. Davido
Davido’s loss is the latest and freshest on people’s minds because his first son Ifeanyi, just died on the 31st of October this week. It was reported that he drowned in the swimming pool, when he was found and rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead. davidoIfeanyi celebrated his 3rd birthday on the 20th of October in a glamorous way. The parents are currently unconsolable, and everyone sends their condolences.davido

2. D’Banj

One of the Nigerian celebrities who knows what it is to lose a son is D’Banj. Many have stated that there are similarities between the death of Davido’s son and D’Banj’s son because the two of them drowned in a swimming pool. Nigerian singer and D’Banj lost his one-year-old son on the 24th of June, 2018. It was reported that the toddler drowned in the swimming pool in his father’s Ikoyi, Lagos home. Today, D’Banj has gone ahead to have two lovely children.
3. Eucharia Annuobi
The Owerri-born actress-turned-evangelist lost her 15- year- old son to sickle cell anaemia on August 22, 2017. The death followed a messy divorce from her husband. The son was the only child of Eucharia. Eucharia is one of the Nigerian celebrities who have lost their sons. 4. Mr Ibu
Nollywood actor and comedian Mr Ibu lost his son, Emmanuel Mandela Okafor, at two. Emmanuel was reportedly sick and was admitted to LUTH. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it.mr ibu
5. Aisha Falode
Ace sports broadcaster and Head of the Media Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Aisha Falode, lost her only son Oloruntoba in Dubai on  February 15, 2014. The 19-year-old was murdered, according to reports carried out by Dubai police.celebrities6. Yinka Davies
Nigerian vocalist, dancer, lyricist and judge of the reality show Nigerian Idol Yinka Davies knows the pain of a parent losing a son. Yinka Davies lost her son on the 29th of January 2021, and his loss was intensely felt by many.
