Lala Akindoju Shares How She’s Been Dragged Because Her Son Has A Yoruba And Not Itsekiri First Name

Nollywood star Kemi Lala Akindoju is the latest celebrity jumping on the #Noonelikewoman challenge by singer Simi and she is sharing how she’s been dragged in society for allowing her son to bear a Yoruba name rather than an Itsekiri name which is her husband’s tribe.

Lala revealed that she and her husband have been questioned severally on this subject with folks asking why her husband allowed it seeing as the act is dishonoring the man and simply not done. She explained that many would be surprised at how the ‘ culture custodians and patriarchy lords” think noting that her child will still bear her husband’s last name and she went through a lot to birth their baby.
