Kyiv Wakes To Blasts As Putin’s Kamikaze Drones Hit Ukraine’s Capital

Residents in Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv awoke to the sound of explosions this morning, with multiple blasts heard booming through the city.

Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president’s staff, said on Telegram the city had been hit by kamikaze drones, but details remain limited at this stage.

“Russians think it will help them,” Mr Yermak said following the blasts.

Air raid sirens sounded shortly before the blasts, which occurred between 6.35am and 7am local time on Monday, with witnesses reporting three blasts.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said one of the blasts occurred in the capital’s central Shevchenkivsky district.

“All services are on their way to the spot. Details later. The air alert continues. Stay in shelters,” Mr Klitschko said on social media.

It comes as the Shevchenkivsky district was hit by several explosions a week earlier, on October 10.
