Kidnapped Ex-Super Eagles Player Christian Obodo Freed
A former Super Eagles midfielder, Christain Obodo was allegedly abducted yesterday evening Sunday, November 16th by gunmen in Delta State, reports has it that he has been freed by his abductors. 
KOKO TV gathered the Ex-Super Eagles and Udinese midfielder was taken by some gunmen along Refinery Road Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State along with a female friend while trying to purchase banana on the road around 5 pm.
According to report both Christian Obodo and his lady friend were both released by their captors on Sunday night. It is believed that Obodo had to part with an undisclosed sum of money so as to secure his freedom as at around 10:30 pm Sunday evening.
On Monday morning November 16, Christian Obodo confirmed his release to journalist through a long time friend of his who was identified as Big Sam, he said “He has been released. He was released last night. I met him this morning. The town is becoming more unsafe. We are glad that he is back home.”
This would be the second time Christian Obodo is being abducted, the first time was in 2018.
