Firstly, a security camera should be installed on the bus as this will help improve the monitoring of the routes, and activities going on in the bus. Another way is to ensure the buses are always well lit. The BRT needs to function properly well and not just function. Having a well lit bus will help reduce and prevent fraudulent activities on the bus. BRT buses are large and long as it accommodates a lot of passengers hence, it would be of benefit if the government can add extra personnel to the driver so he is not the only attendant available to deal with any mishap. Again, there should be a means of communication, be it a phone or preferably an inbuilt system where the BRT driver communicates with the company and the operators on the other end. This way, the company can be kept abreast with happening, while the bus is running and also aid the security of the passengers and driver.

Yes, Nigeria is a developing country that has a lot of unemployed citizens but when it comes to security and safety, it should not be compromised for anything. Therefore, the government should not only focus on employing drivers who can drive but these drivers should be given special lectures/courses on security measures to enable and equip them with the necessary information when they are in danger. This way, drivers are fully trained and competent to use the vehicles they will be operating. A government that can provide these BRT buses can also improve its security systems because has the desire of its citizens at heart.
