Fuel Subsidy: Labour Unions Thank Soludo Over Palliatives

The organised labour in Anambra State, compriding the state workforce and pensioners, have thanked Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for the palliatives he released last week to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal and attendant hardship faced by Nigerians.

In a ‘thank you’ letter signed by the state chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Galus Chukwuka, his secretary secretary, Comrade Chris Ogbonna, and Trade Union Congress (TUC) chairman, Comrade Alex C. Ebi, among others, the group particularly thanked the governor on the N12,000.00 per month cash award to workers both active and retired, which will run from September to December 2023.

They expressed joy at the holistic nature of Soludo’s palliative which cuts across all Anambranians: the employed, unemployed, less privileged, the market people, the sick and pregnant women, school children and students, the artisans and transporters, saying the steps were worthy of commendation.
