The Akunyili family has released a statement on the death of Dr. Chike Akunyili the husband of late NAFDAC boss Dr. Dora Akuyili who was brutally murdered a few days ago. He was murdered while returning from a lecture and award ceremony held in honour of his wife.

The family in their statement said that Dr Chike’s death has left a vacuum even sorrow cannot fill. They recounted how he had a bullet logged in his skull during the Biafran war and it propelled him to become a doctor who saved several lives. They recounted his many goodwills as a father, a family man and a son who wanted the best for his people, the family and Nigeria as a nation. The family also said they hope his death will not be in vain.
