KOKO Weekly: Davido Is Redefining What Giving Back As A Celebrity Truly Means

Last the Nigerian public was put on a real life Telemundo cruise by arguably the biggest music exponent out of Nigeria at the moment by the DMW boss David Adeleke aka Davido, after taking to his page to call out all of his friends asking them so send him money in celebration of his 29th birthday.

The singer had first set a target of N100m, but then decided to up the target after getting tremendous feedback as she received a total of N87m within 3-hours. The singer afterwards then decided to give away all of the money that was donated to him to orphanage homes across the country after also donating N50m himself bring the total to a sum of N250m.

This was probably the most altruistic singular public act any Nigerian artiste or celebrity has ever pulled off, and this young man did it effortlessly with the mantra #WeRiseByLiftingOthers. And in light of that, we’ve decided to celebrate the DMW boss’ birthday in arrears, celebrating this one of a kind true philanthropist for a true benevolent act, Davido you’re the king we truly rise by lifting other if only there were more of David Adeleke’s in the world just maybe the world would be a better place.
