Croatia’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic Breaks The Internet With Her World Cup Hugs
Croatia’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic was in attendance at the packed Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow for the 2018 FIFA World Cup final, which France won after defeating Croatia by 4-2.
Grabar-Kitarovic was spotted wearing the Croatian jersey as she cheered on her team albeit in a losing cause.

Following the match, the Croatian president was seen hugging players from both the teams during the medal presentation ceremony.

She was also spotted sharing some light moments with French president Macron. The pictures of the Croatian president later went viral for all the good reasons.
Grabar- Kitarovic, who was born in Rijeka in the Croatian part of Yugoslavia, is known for her fluency in Croatian, English, Spanish and Portuguese languages. Reportedly, she also understands German, French and Italian as well.
Despite the defeat, Croatia won hearts as they were playing in their maiden World Cup final. The Luka Modric-led side managed to win all their matches until the final against France.
In the group stage, Croatia defeated Argentina 3-0 to stone one and all. The team then progressed to the summit of the tournament on the back of some impressive victories. However, in the final, the Croatian team had to face a dejection.
