COVID-19: Wearing Of Face Masks In Public Places Now Optional – FG

The federal government has given new updates on COVID-19 restrictions in the nation following the drastic reduction in the number of cases across the country. Head of the Technical Secretariat, Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, Dr. Muktar Muhammed, said in Abuja that wearing of face mask in public was now optional. He added that decision on the final relaxation of COVID-19 measures will be taken after Easter.

Bashir Ahmad the president’s media aide on new media also put out a tweet stating this noting that the use of face masks in public places is now optional. This comes a few weeks after the federal government also announced that In-bound fully vaccinated passengers arriving in Nigeria would no longer be required to take a pre-departure PCR COVID-19 Test. Countries across the world have started relaxing COVID-19 measures.
