With the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country the US consulate has ordered the evacuation of it citizens from Nigeria. An Ethiopian Airlines flight carrying 376 US citizens departed from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, for Washington Dulles international Airport on Monday, April 6, 2020.
According to the US consulate in Nigeria, the chartered flight departed at 5:25pm Nigerian time.This is the first flight to leave the country among the several flights that will be departing from Nigeria over the next few days. The US consulate announced last week that it will be evacuating it citizens from Nigeria following the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.
