China Bans All Its Residents From Eating Dog, Snake, Frog, Turtle, Octopus 1 Love

A Legislation has been passed in a city in China, Shenzen where the city has passed a law placing a ban on its citizens from eating wild animals, and certain domestic animals which include dog, snake, frog, turtle, Octopus and cats this law was put in place in the wake of the deadly novel Coronavirus pandemic.

The Legislation was passed in Shenzhen, a city of around 13 million citizens, the law will take effect on the 1st of May according to the government.

China placed a ban on trade and consumption on wild animals, due to the high rate of consumption of such animals, with scientific believes that the deadly Coronavirus was caused by the consumptions of such animals which has now go on to infect caused a global pandemic. The Officials who declared the new regulation stated that this is a new “Universal Civilisation requirement for a modern society”, with the aim at satisfying the daily needs of the modern society”

According to the new legislation, there are now just 9 types of livestock that are fit for the consumption of the people to eat which includes; Pigs, Cows, Donkeys, Rabbits, Chicken, Ducks, Geese and Pigeons.

Residents are also allowed to dine on aquatic animals permitted by law.

Before the law was passed,  one spokesperson said the authority wanted to make it easier for people to know what can be eaten. ‘There are so many animal species in nature. In our country alone, there are more than 2,000 kinds of protected wild animal species. ‘If the local authority is to produce a list of the wild animals that cannot be eaten, it will be too lengthy and cannot answer the question exactly what animals can be eaten,’ the official said.
