Adekemi Adesulu-Dahunsi is not just making a difference in the science world but she has also topped the list of KOKO’s women in science who will do great things for the future of Nigeria.

Hailing from the Food Science & Technology Laboratory, Bowen University, Iwo comes Adekemi Adesulu. She specializes in environmental genomics and is interested in the analysis of the microbial composition of raw milk and traditional dairy products in Nigeria.

Her goal is to help ensure the safety and quality of African fermented foods. Adekemi is a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, Landmark University, Nigeria. Her research focuses on biodiversity, phylogenic taxonomy, and technological characterization of desirable microorganisms associated with the traditional African fermented foods and the development of starter culture for the optimized and controlled fermentation process.

Adekemi Adesulu-Dahunsi has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals and won several fellowships and travel grants.
