Update: Abayomi Shogunle And Dolapo Badmus Demoted With 37 Others Dismissed
The Nigeria Police has dismissed and demoted some key former members of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), including Dolapo Badmus and Abayomi Shogunle.
This comes in response to the EndSARS protest by Nigerian youths across the country and the call for reform in the institution.
In a number of tweets on Saturday, October 17, 2020, Ayo Akanji, a member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s media team released on Twitter the names and service numbers of those dismissed.
He however, stated that Shogunle and Badmus we’re not dismissed but reprimanded and demoted.

“Not to be misunderstood, my thread on police administrative action includes dismissed, reprimanded & demoted officers. Abayomi Shogunle & Dolapo Badmus are amongst reprimanded and demoted officers.
