18-Year Former Bus Conductor Boy Who Used To Live Under Oshodi Bridge Wins Chess Tournament

Adeoye Fawaz, an 18-year-old bus conductor who lived under the Oshodi bridge for years, has emerged winner in a chess tournament.

Chess in slums Africa, a non-profit organization that uses chess to promote education in low-income communities, organized chess training for 51 homeless children living under the bridge in Oshodi, Lagos state.

Fawaz was one of the kids trained in chess playing and mental maths where they were given several puzzles to solve.

After the training, a chess and mental math competition was held and Adeoye Fawaz emerged best in both chess and mental maths.

He has been hailed as a “champion” on Twitter. Fawaz’s dream is to become a musician and a comedian.
