Arsenal Manager Unai Emery has been urged to sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele by Arsenal legend Lauren. Dembele, who was signed by Barcelona in a £135.5 million deal from Borussia Dortmund last year, has struggled to adapt to life at Camp Nou and has been linked with a move away.
Reports have also claimed that Barcelona’s senior players have concerns over Dembele’s professionalism as he regularly turns up late to training. But Lauren, who was Arsene Wenger’s right-back in Arsenal’s Invincibles side, believes the France international would be a perfect fit for Emery’s current set-up. ‘I think Arsenal should do everything they can to sign Dembele,’ Lauren said.
‘Everything about his style of play matches what Arsenal are looking for. ‘He isn’t getting the playing time at Barcelona, or playing in his strongest position, but Arsenal’s high intensity will allow him to reach his potential. Dembele can play on either side of the pitch, which is a bonus and he’s showed that he can do it against the big teams, coming off the bench to rescue points for Barcelona. I would love to see him at Arsenal.’
