UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin is coming to Nigeria.

“In the next NFF Awards in January, I can tell you we have the president of UEFA who is the president of my committee in FIFA,” Amaju Pinnick said in an interview while discussing preparations for the 2019 NFF Awards. The president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed that Ceferin knows the contribution of Nigeria to UEFA and he’s willing to honor football lovers in the country.

“He knows the contribution of Nigeria to UEFA through the Champions League and wants to give something back for Nigeria,” Pinnick adds. “Nigeria now have we have global reckoning in football administration.” In February this year, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and head of the Confederations of African Football (CAF) Ahmad Ahmad were both present at the inaugural edition of NFF Awards that took place in Lagos.

Pinnick is a member of the Organizing Committee for FIFA Competitions which has Ceferin as chairman. The group oversee organisation of FIFA competitions, besides advising and assisting the Council on all matters in this regard.
