As the conference UEFA conference league enters its second season, with pioneer winners AS Roma moving up to the Europa league, West-Ham, Villarreal, Anderlecht and Fiorentina will battle the rest of Europe for the coveted trophy.
The UEFA conference league was established last season with the aim of fielding more teams into European competitions and also to curb the excesses of mega-rich club owners like Florentino Perez, the Oil magnates of Manchester- City and Andrea Agnelli of Juventus from establishing their own elite league called the ‘Super league.’

The clubs in the UEFA conference league are drawn from European teams who refused to make the cut for the Europa league in their respected countries. AS Roma made history last season, as they became the first team in history to win the competition.

Jose Mourhino’s influence drew a lot of attention to the competition last season, as the enigmatic Portuguese brought his energy into every match. This season won’t be any different, as teams like Villarreal, West Ham and the rest will be willing to replicate Roma’s feat of last season.
