Tyson Fury Doesn’t Have The B**** – Eddie Hearn Launches Scathing Attack After Anthony Joshua Fight Collapsed

Eddie Hearn has launched a scathing rant directed at Tyson Fury , claiming he did nothing to try and save the now collapsed bout with Anthony Joshua.

The two Brits were scheduled to go head-to-head this summer, with all of the heavyweight belts on the line. After months of discussions, both Joshua and Fury had signed an agreement ahead of a fight which would have crowned the first undisputed champ at this weight since Lennox Lewis.

However, with only a venue left to be confirmed, the super-fight was scuppered when Fury was ordered to honour his rematch clause with Deontay Wilder.
The Gypsy King won the WBC belt from the American at the start of last year, with a proposed trilogy completing bout scheduled for later in the year.

A combination of the coronavirus pandemic and cancellations put paid to that rematch, with Fury insisting he had moved his attention to Joshua. Last week however, a court of arbitration ruled that Wilder must be given his rematch, or be given a huge ‘step-aside’ fee in order to forfeit that clause.

But in the light of the court’s ruling, Fury has now agreed to fight Wilder in July, before potentially meeting AJ before the end of the year.

Asked how much effort was put in from Top Rank in order to get the Joshua fight on, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn said:
“The answer to your question is, Team Fury made absolutely zero attempt to try and save the Anthony Joshua fight. Zero attempt.

“I don’t believe there was even a conversation, I don’t believe there was an offer, I don’t believe anything. This is another reason why the whole thing stinks. Bob Arum [Fury’s promoter] is aware of the work that has gone in to make this fight.

“And to just call up and say, ‘I can’t believe it, it’s preposterous…and we’re just going to go ahead with the Wilder fight, so cheers mate, thanks for everything and we’ll catch up soon’. If this was me in that case, I would have done absolutely everything I could to save this fight, they didn’t try one thing. And that also sits on Tyson Fury , because he didn’t try and do one thing either.”

Hearn lay much of the blame at the feet of the 32-year-old and accused Fury of lacking ‘b*******’ for failing to stand up to his team. He continued: “There’s nothing I can do about it because as I said leading up to this fight, the only thing I can’t control is their team.

“But where are your b******* Tyson Fury? If you really wanted this AJ fight, you have not said anything negative about this situation.

“You have not said how disappointed you are, you have not looked at your promoters – who clearly could have terminated this contract a long time ago – and gone, ‘What have you done? You’ve not only cost me fifty or sixty million dollars, you’ve cost me the biggest fight of all time, the undisputed fight because you’ve dropped the ball. And if you haven’t dropped the ball, why are you not fighting this and trying to come up with a Plan B’.

“I’ve not seen one thing from Tyson Fury, where he’s saying: ‘I’m devastated, I can’t believe this, we had a deal in place, I was happy, guys I’m sorry’.I don’t believe this and I don’t believe him.”

Joshua now looks set to face undefeated Ukranian Oleksandr Usyk, after he was ordered defend his WBO belt against the mandatory challenger.
