The Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) has exposed those sponsoring insecurity in Imo state.
IPOB accused two ex-Governors and an erstwhile Senator in Imo State (names withheld) of sponsoring insecurity in the State.
The group said the sponsors’ interest was to make the State ungovernable for Governor Hope Uzodimma.
In a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB said the sponsors were meeting regularly to strategise on how to undo Uzodinma’s government because of old scores to settle.
It however alleged the Governor was transferring aggression to the masses by tagging them IPOB and Eastern Security Network (ESN) members.
The statement partly reads, “IPOB has been so worried over the continued criminalities going on in Biafra Land, especially in Imo State.
“These duds (crime sponsors) had secret meetings and agreed to make Uzodinma Government ungovernable until his tenure elapses. They also agreed that as soon as this government ends as a failure, they will mobilise support for an incoming Government and ensure that Imo State returns to its former glory as the most peaceful State in the region.”
