Top Nigerian musicians, Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy have seen their Twitter verification badges removed from their accounts.
Checks by our correspondent showed that the verification badges on their account have been removed.
Big Brother Naija star, Pere Egbi, lashed out at the microblogging owner, Elon Musk, shortly after his verification badge and that of many others were taken away.

Pere in the tweets he shared, stated that he will never pay for the verification badge as Elon has “ruined the purpose of having it.” He tweeted;
“I will not pay a dime for your verification badge @elonmusk you ruined the purpose for having it. Werey somebody. All of us now dey the same level for twitter. Hehehehe. Nothing when we no go see for Elon musk internet. Someone educate me on this twitter blue nonsense, wtf is that?”

The new development may be connected to the non-payment of their verification subscription fee announced by Twitter Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk.
Elon Musk had announced the final date for the free Blue badge removal via his verified account badges to be on April 20, 2023.
