Tribunal Chairman That Acquitted Saraki Is Set To Be Investigated By EFCC

Code Of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar, who recently discharged and acquitted Senate Presidebt Bukola Saraki of all 18 charges of false asset declaration, is set to be investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over some allegations.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re-opened investigation into alleged N10 million bribe Umar collected through his personal assistant, Ali Gambo Abdullahi. Although Umar had been cleared over the issue over a year ago, discovery of new clues has been said to be responsible for the new probe.According to a top officer of the EFCC, the commission has started screening all petitions against the CCT chairman. After scrutinizing all the petitions the anti-graft commission would invite him for interrogation. “I can confirm to you that the EFCC is set to re-open the probe of the CCT chairman. We are studying the petitions and he will be invited anytime from now”, He said.
