World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria Vs South Africa LIVE: Build-up And Team News

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will host Bafana Bafana of South Africa today 7th June 2024 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo by 8:00 PM W.A.T.

Nigeria’s quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup faces a significant hurdle as they take on South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in a critical Group C encounter on Friday.

The Super Eagles are currently in third place after failing to secure victories in their opening two qualifiers.

Two consecutive 1-1 draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe have left Nigeria’s qualification hopes hanging in the balance.

In light of recent criticism of the goalkeeping staff, Finidi must make a crucial choice in goal for the World Cup qualifying match against South Africa.

Finidi is probably going to stay with Stanley Nwabali, who proved to be a hero for the Super Eagles during the AFCON campaign, even with the return of the in-form Maduka Okoye.

Full Lineup: Nwabali (GK); Osayi-Samuek, Ajayi, Tanimu, Bassey; Ndidi, Onyedika; Lookman, Iwobi, Chukwueze; Boniface

To avoid another setback, the team will need to be more clinical against South Africa. A loss would severely damage their qualification chances.
