Tory Lanez allegedly shouted ‘dance b***h’ at Megan Thee Stallion before shooting her in the foot, a court heard.

The 29-year-old singer appeared at Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday for a hearing on whether the case will go to trial.

Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, is charged with felony assault after being accused of shooting Megan, 26, in the foot following a Hollywood Hills party at Kylie Jenner’s house in July 2020.

He has pleaded not guilty.

At the latest court hearing, Los Angeles Police detective Ryan Stogner testified basing his account on interviews with Megan, real name Megan Pete.

Mr Stogner told the court according to Rolling Stone: ‘As she exited the vehicle, she heard Mr Peterson yelling obscenities at her, and he stated, “Dance, b***h!” And he then began firing a weapon at her…

‘[Megan] observed Mr Peterson holding a firearm and then she observed him start to shoot.

‘Megan immediately felt pain to her feet, observed blood, fell to the ground, and then crawled to an adjacent driveway of a residence…She described her injuries as bleeding profusely.’

Mr Stogner continued: ‘Megan stated the defendant apologised for doing it and offered her money and begged her to please not say anything and made a reference to the fact he was already on probation and he begged her not to say anything.’

At one point during the hearing, Lanez is said to have become angry and shouted at Stogner, after the detective spoke of him calling a friend of Megan’s from jail to apologise.

Lanez yelled: ‘How about you tell me what I was apologising for, bro? That don’t make no sense,’ before being asked to be quiet by his attorney, Shawn Holley.

Judge Keith Borjon decided to uphold the assault charges against Lanez, who will now return to court on January 13 for the start of the trial.

Lanez is facing two felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, along with an additional allegation that he ‘personally inflicted great bodily injury’.

He faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison if convicted of the charges.

More than a month after the incident, Megan said during an Instagram live that Tory was the person who shot her.

She told her followers: ‘Yes this n***** Tory shot me.

‘You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s**t. Stop lying.

‘Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you’re dragging it.’
