Tokyo 2020 Paralympics: Obiji Wins Nigeria’s Sixth Medal In Japan

Loveline Obiji has won Nigeria’s sixth medal at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in Japan. She bagged silver in women’s +86g after lifting 147kg. Loveline Obiji Tokyo Paralympics

Obiji’s medal takes Nigeria to the 21st position on the medal table with three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
On Sunday, Team Nigeria’s Bose Omolayo displayed high-level resilience and dexterity to clinch the country’s second gold medal.

Omolayo came out tops in the women’s Powerlifting 79kg category and capped her remarkable showing with a World Record when she lifted 141kg, earning her a standing ovation from the spectators in the arena.

The heartwarming display also threw Team Nigeria’s camp into jubilation, raising the morale of the other athletes ahead of their events for the remaining days of the Games.
Nigeria is currently the highest placed African country at the Games.
