“This Is The Dream Of A Lifetime” – Mbappe Admits After Semi-Final Triumph

Kylian Mbappe says reaching World Cup final is the dream of a lifetime.

Didier Deschamps and his men became the first team to qualify for this tournament’s final in Russia, following their 1-0 victory over Belgium at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday night. “Even in my wildest dreams I didn’t imagine this,” Mbappe explained in his post-match press conference. “I’m a dreamer and this is the dream of a lifetime. There is still one more step to take, but we’re proud of what we’ve done.”

French President, Emmanuel Macron was in attendance in Saint Petersburg to support his countrymen when Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti scored the winning goal for the 1998 champions in the second half. “President Emmanuel Macron came to see us in the dressing room,” Mbappe disclosed. “The whole country is with us. We’re all in this together.”

Mbappe scored his first ever World Cup goal against Peru in Group Stage. The 19-year-old PSG star’s goal in Ekaterinburg where the Group C match held, see him become the youngest France player to score a goal in a World Cup with an age of 19 years, six months and one day. The teenage soccer star broke the record of French-Argentine David Trezeguet, who in 1998 scored against Saudi Arabia aged 20 years and 246 days.
