This Is Nigeria! Falz Releases Childish Gambino-Inspired Music Video – See How Celebs Reacted

Ooh-ooh-ooh, tell somebody Falz has released a new video titled “This Is Nigeria”!

The Nigerian international rapper released the Childish Gambino-inspired track and video on Friday (May 25) ahead of the country’s Democracy Day which comes in few days – with the federal government announcing May 29 as public holiday. “This Is Nigeria” was produced by Wande Thomas, and the video was directed by Prodigeezy. In the video, a shirtless Falz addresses issues plaguing Nigeria, including corrupt politicians, Chibok/Dapchi girls kidnap, Internet fraud, Fulani herdsmen, Police brutality and more.

Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) got the world reacting when he released “This Is America” on May 5, at the same time that the 34-year-old US entertainer was hosting Saturday Night Live and it debuted at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song features background vocals by American rappers Young Thug, Slim Jxmmi, BlocBoy JB, 21 Savage, and Quavo. This Is America’s music video which now has over 190 million YouTube views was directed by Japanese filmmaker Hiro Murai.
