Nigerian lawyer, Segalink has reacted to tweet by rapper and songwriter, Rema about the government making a law that allows members of the Police Force to search mobile devices without any warrant.
Rema has since been on a rant on Twitter, where he spoke against some of the excesses that happens in the music industry and the politics of the country.
He wrote, “I bet y’all don’t know that the Nigerian government signed a new Law enabling the police to arrest and search your phones without warrant. THE TWITTER TRENDS ARE NOT ENOUGH, MY GENERATION WAKE UP!!!”
Reacting, Segalink stated that the report was wrong and that there was no law in the constitution that aptly stated the claims by the artiste.
He wrote, “Can you kindly state the Law that enables the searching of Phones under any provision of Law in Nigeria? I am waiting to learn from you. This is misinformation taken too far by a verified account. This is an unfortunate way to rile the people over falsehood. #FakeNewsAlert.”
