“They Want To Frame Me For Murder”- Senator Shehu Sani Cries Out

Senator Shehu Sani who represents the Kaduna Central at The National Assembly cried out after he received a letter from the Kaduna State Police Command inviting him for questioning on the crime of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. Senator Shehu said there are plans by his opponents in Kaduna state to frame for murder in response to the invitation letter he received.

The senator was invited over after a criminal suspect, Isa Garba was arrested for a murder case in January, he was reported to have implicated the senator in his confession.
The Police command recounted the involvement of Senator Shehu in its letter to The National Assembly with ref. no: CR: 2000/KDS/VOL 5H/72. The suspect, Isa Garba narrated his participation in the killing of one Lawal Madugu with one Bashir Hamadada. Bashir went further to implicate Senator Shehu as his name was called in the confession. A division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna took this confession in an audio CD to the Police. The letter was therefore sent through the clerk of the National Assembly while the Senate President Bukola Saraki was also copied.

Parts of the letter reads:
“This is in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide transferred to this office by 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, alongside with exhibit audio CD in which your name was mentioned by the principal suspect. This is to enable us fairly and timely conclude investigation into the matter.”
The letter which was signed by Austin Iwa Sani invites Senator Shehu to the office of the commissioner of police in Kaduna on 30th of April, 2018 at 10am.

In response to the allegation, Senator Shehu accused the Kaduna government of allegedly framing him for murder just the way Senator Dino Melaye was framed. He took to social media to share his sentiments about the accusation, he said:
“They want to frame me the same way they frame Senator Dino Melaye in Kogi on allegation of arming thugs. There is an attempt to frame me up with a murder case by the Kaduna State Government using the police. A letter has been written from the office of the Commissioner of Police office but it has not been delivered to us. This is a case that is before the court of law. The governor wrote the judge expressing his interest in the case.”
