The Nigerian Army Has Ended Operation Ayem Akpatuma In Benue State

The leadership of the Nigerian Army has confirmed that the Operation Ayem Akpatuma – which was created to halt the actions of killer herdsmen in Benue Taraba and Kogi state – has ended.
The special military exercise, which was created to train soldiers that will protect vulnerable areas of the states from the killer herdsmen, lasted three months in the three states.

The lead spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu, confirmed the story on Tuesday, saying that the exercise recorded tremendous successes inspite of the numerous challenges it faced in the affected regions.
Brigadier General Texas said: “The Nigerian Army wishes to express its appreciation to the States government, Traditional Rulers, Religious and Youth leaders as well as other stakeholders for their cooperation and support to the Nigerian Army for the period of the exercise.”
