Lagos State House of Assembly Majority Leader Hon. S.O.B Agunbiade has reacted to the loot and vandalisation of his House at Ota-Ona, Ikorodu, noting that the items were meant for a widows and were meant to be shared at a programmes holding today Saturday, 24th October.
Taking to the streets of Twitter to release an emergency statement, Agunbiade’s media team revealed that the palliatives were delivered during the week, many of which are unbranded as they were procured by the team to be distributed to beneficiaries alongside a planned giveaway of cash support for 50 widows.
“Re: Ota Ona food haul We wish to tell you that the Ota Ona incident involving food packages being carted away is happening at a facility belonging to Team SOB, the political group of Hon. SOB Agunbiade. The palliatives, meant for the above already advertised programme slated for tomorrow, were delivered there during the week.”
“A good look will reveal that many are unbranded as they were procured by the team to be distributed to beneficiaries alongside a planned giveaway of cash support for 5o widows as part of ceremonies marking Agunbiades birthday on Sunday. Good enough, beneficiaries for the said program we’re nominated on social media platforms such as this very one. This much we can tell you now. A proper release will follow later. Thank you SOB Media Team”, the statement read.In another more comprehensive statement he finally put up today, S.O,.B Agunbiade revealed that there was no fatality recorded during the loot and vandalism, and he is happy to be alive to witness his birthday. He added that he had gotten an intelligent report that the loot may happen but he took it for a rumour and he was not ready to let security agents be around so lives would not be lost. He then thanked the masterminds behind the looting, which he said, is for political reasons.
