Nigerian singer and rapper, D’banj has dedicated the Lifetime Achievement Award he received at the 2022 Headies Awards to Don Jazzy, the founder and CEO of Mavin Records.
D’banj earned the award for his vast contribution to the evolution of Afrobeats, which has seen him dominate the stage, thrilling fans with his talent and evergreen hits for over a decade.

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has finally come out and apologised over his death threat to co-nominees of the Headies Award.
Portable was disqualified after his recent comments and fellow misconduct in society. The Awards organizers released a press statement disqualifying Habeeb.

He was nominated for Best Street Artist and Rookie of the Year. In a video he released on IG, he apologised saying ”Headies make una no vex”
