Real Madrid went through to the Champions League semi-finals with a 4-3 aggregate score against Juventus.
The Spanish side were awarded a last-gasp penalty during their quarter-final second leg tie and right on time the internet went wild.
Juve skipper, Buffon got a red card just before Ronaldo converted the penalty to wrap up what many believed to be a controversial night at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Spain.
Our findings make for some of the finest reading on the internet today and here are the 10 best reactions:
1. Mental
Definite penalty for Real Madrid? Or way too harsh on Juventus? ? Ronaldo with the goal to put Real through. Red card for Buffon. Sent off in quite possibly his last Champions League game. Mental. pic.twitter.com/iPZIl5X6vg

2. Pathetic
Honestly how can such a tie be decided on such a contentious decision. When he blows that whistle it has to be stonewall. Gigi’s dream final CL over thanks to a Real Madrid last second penalty. Pathetic.

3. Cruel
I hate Real Madrid with every fibre of my being but it was a clear as day penalty. Football is so fucking cruel #RMAJUV

4. It Wasn’t Fake!
Just because the Penalty in the Real Madrid match was given in the last minute doesn’t mean it was fake. The player was about to score and was clearly pushed from the back with a high boots on his chest what else do people need to get in?

5. It Was A Dodgy Penalty
Let me just remind people that Ronaldo missed this free header in the 88th minute, at 3-0 down, when Juve still had 11 men on the field. People will forget this and only talk about how he scored the pen, whereas in reality the dodgy penalty has saved his and Real Madrid’s ass. pic.twitter.com/XzNhu2KeS8

6.Michael Oliver Made The Right Decision
Real Madrid went through fair & square. There is no need for conspiracy theories – it was a penalty. Michael Oliver made the right decision & shouldn’t be destroyed for it. I feel for Juventus fans and the players, but they dug themselves a hole in the first leg & paid for it.

7. Juventus Coach And Players In Qoutes
Allegri:”The penalty was a joke”
Chiellini:”Biggest robbery I have ever seen”
Buffon:”The referee should be in the stands eating crisps”
Alex Sandro:”It’s a disgrace”
Pjanic:”Shameful”
Benatia:”Vasquz was on the ground before I even touched him. This is Real Madrid”

8. UEFA Are Bent
Wait a minute. Real Madrid get a last minute penalty to go through and Twitter folk goes barmy saying Juve were robbed and UEFA are bent. The same Twitter folk who had a go at city fans when questioning decisions in our game telling us their not bent ?

9. Pissed Off At The Situation
I have no hate towards Real Madrid or Ronaldo. I’m just pissed off at the situation. All that hard work to make a historic comeback, undone by a penalty. Plus Buffon’s red card just disgusts me. I’m glad Juve showed the heart of a champion. No shame in going out the way we did.

10. We Call It Ojoro!
Juve were robbed.
There is no way that was a penalty and you still gave their keeper a red card?
We call this OJORO where I come from.
