Suspend Companies Involved In Bad Fuel Importation – Reps Tells NNPC

The House of Representatives has ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited to suspend the companies involved in the importation of methanol-blended petrol. The house gave the order during its plenary session on Thursday, February 10  insisting that the government officials in the import and distribution chain, whose action or inaction led to the spread of the commodity, must be held accountable.

Recall that the NNPC group managing director Mele Kyari had listed 4 companies responsible for the importation of the bad PMS. The chamber urged the agency to forward the names of the firms to its committee for investigation. The investigation, according to The Nation, is to ascertain the quality of petroleum products imported meets international standards. This resolution came after the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Honourable Mohammed Monguno.
