Trump Realises Threats Against WHO, Cuts US Tie With Organisation

President Donald Trump has made his threat to the World Health Organisation WHO a reality as he cuts the nation’s ties with the Organisation.
Recall that Donald Trump had written WHO a week ago, giving it an ultimatum of days to change its approach of fight against the dreaded COVID-19 else, he will be forced to stop the funding from US and cut America’s tie with the organisation.

Trump has, however, declared that the US is terminating its ties with the organisation and is suspending all funding to the organization. He announced this during a press conference at the White House Rose Garden on Friday, saying WHO has ‘failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms. He further accused WHO officials, like he did in his initial letter of helping China lie and conceal the seriousness of the ‘Wuhan virus’.

“Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent global public health needs. The World needs answers from China on the virus. China has total control over the World Health Organization despite only paying $40 million per year compared to what the United States has been paying, which is approximately $450 million a year“, he said.Photos Credit: Getty
