The Nigerian Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC have both implored Nigerians to stop offering their officers a bribe, asking them to also report any officer who demands a bribe from them.
The Nigerian security and traffic agencies said this during the one-day virtual stakeholder dialogue on Effective And Sustainable Strategies For Curbing Retail Corruption which both attended.During the dialogue organised by the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption PACAC, on Tuesday, 27th July, 2021, the agencies reinstated that citizens offering the officials bribe and gratification is a crime under the Criminal Code.

Speaking at the event, PACAC Executive Secretary Prof Sadiq Radda said citizens have a critical role to play in ending petty (retail) corruption, most of which occur in form of bribery.
