So sad! Wife of Cambodian Prince Dies In Auto Crash

Former Cambodian co-prime minister, Norodon Ranariddh was involved in an auto crash yesterday.

The prince, Norodon Ranariddh was said to be on his way to Sihanoukville in Southwest Cambodia in company of senior members of his FUNCINPEC party and his 32-year-old wife; Ouk Phalla, on Sunday June 17, when a taxi heading towards them in the opposite direction, collided with his SUV. The police chief general, speaking on the incident, mentioned that the former prime minister was immediately rushed to a hospital in Phnom Penh for urgent treatment.
A certain politician, familiar with the situation, spoke under the condition of anonymity, telling the Associated Press that the prince was being flown to Bangkok at 1a.m for further treatment at the request of the country’s royal Palace. Fresh news; a news agency, confirmed reports that he has been taken to Thailand, however, the news of his transfer to Bangkok is yet to be certain. it is also reported that he suffered multiple broken ribs.
His wife was said to have given up the ghost at a hospital where she was immediately rushed to. While news of the state of the members of his entourage has not been made public.

Norodon is the president of the FUNCINPEC; a cambodain party, and a one time co-prime minister with Hun Sen after his party won a United Nations-organized election in 1993. He is also the half-brother of the present Cambodian king; Norodom Sihamoni.Photo Credit: Getty
