Singer Nonso Bassey has shared his unfortunate experience with the police force on social media. The singer who was a victim of police brutality opened up on the experience in a Twitter thread and asked if these are the people entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the people.
Nonso Bassey in his thread shared that it was his 3rd encounter with the police and on the first 2 encounters they beat him, took him to a dungeon, and told him that if he died no one will ever find his body. He shared that they ceased their phones, abused his sister, and went through their phones without any explanations.

This is my 3rd time being targeted, harassed, handcuffed and beaten by Police officers. FOR NOTHING!!!

In October 2020 Nigerian youths took to the streets across the country to speak against police brutality in the country sharing their unfortunate experiences with members of the police force and the need for rehabilitation of the force.
