‘Shots Like That End Careers!’ – Tyson Fury Think Deontay Wilder Might Retire After Trilogy Defeat

Tyson Fury says he caught Deontay Wilder with shots that ‘end careers’ following his victory over ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Fury and Wilder went to war in a thrilling trilogy fight in Las Vegas on Saturday with the WBC champion put down twice by the challenger in the fourth round.

As he did in their first meeting however, the Briton recovered and rose from the mat to dominate Wilder, ending the contest in the eleventh round with another knockout.

The American went down three times in all – blasted to the canvas in the third round with another huge right flooring him in the 10th.

While Wilder rose again, he was spectacularly put down for a final time in the 11th with a shot that Fury suggests could leave Wilder considering his future in the sport.

Asked whether Wilder could consider retirement following the defeat, Fury told a post-fight press conference: ‘I have not seen the actual knockout, but I felt it.

‘I felt he was getting tired and fatigued and I hit him solid with a crunching right hook right in the side of the temple. Shots like that end careers.

‘I just hope he is ok, he took a lot of punishment. We will see what he can do in the future.’

Wilder meanwhile was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following the fight.

He said: said: ‘I did my best, but it wasn’t good enough tonight.

‘I’m not sure what happened. I know that in training he did certain things, and I also knew that he didn’t come in at 277 pounds to be a ballet dancer.

‘He came to lean on me, try to rough me up and he succeeded.’
