The most unlikely thing happened in Kenya on Thursday when lightning struck 10 women in Mbombo village in Laikipia west of Kenya.
The district deputy County Commissioner, Dan Mwangi, confirmed the tragic incident, saying that the women sustained body injuries after being struck around 5pm on Thursday.
According to Punch, the Commissioner said the women were attending a meeting when the lightening storm started.
He said: “Suddenly, lightning struck and the tree that they were covering themselves from fell on them. Ten of them sustained injuries.”
The women were rescued when some kind-hearted locals around rushed to the scene and took them to Ol Moran health center. However, two of them who had serious injuries were taken to Nyahururu county referral hospital and have since been admitted,” he said. The official said that they sustained broken ribs.
