It happened few years ago, when Hitv snatched the premier league broadcast rights from the nose of the ever complacent, Dstv. Before the latter eventually regained broadcast right the following year.
With the look of things, it is happening again during Russia 2018 as Star times dispelled all doubts when they held an exclusive event for advertisers and business partners at the Federal Palace Hotel, to officially announce themselves as the broadcast partners for the 2018 world cup, to the entire African continent.
I can’t come up with a reason for the complacency again but it seems a wide range of Nigerians will need to buy a Star times decoder before May next year as our traditional Dstv has lost out in the battle again.
