Vice-president Kashim Shettima gave up his seat for the former president Muhammadu Buhari, at the wedding of Mohammed Babagana, the eldest son of Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno.
Mohammed wedded his partner Kalthum Bukar on Saturday at the Maiduguri Central Mosque, around the palace of Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba, the Shehu of Borno.
It is understood that Buhari served as the “wali”, the groom’s representative, who received the wife of Mohammed Babagana Zulum.

At the wedding, Buhari reunited with some former and serving governors.
Several other dignitaries turned up for the event, including Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser.
Also in attendance were Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara, and the former minister Isa Pantami.
