Acting, speaking, listening, thinking and reacting like a grown man are some of the foundational tenets that can move a guy’s dating plans to the next level. She might not list them out for you but like an average school examiner, your lady will be watching out for a unique set of character list before deciding to either end it at the first date or ask for more.
The most important thing a lady will watch out for when dating a guy is his attitude, You need to act mature, calm and composed. You should control the situation at all times. In summary, you needs to act like a matured man. Now this maturity issue has been highly over emphasized in the Nigerian context, but pulling the “matured man” act is sure feat that will guarantee you a second date irrespective of your physical physique or financial prowess.
Acting matured does not require any form of unfathomable features. It is not a complex list of mathematical “mumbo-jumbo” that require deep thought and painstakingly careful actions. As a matter of fact, it is something every guy can pull off. You don’t need 30 minutes of rehearsal, appraisal or assessment. The foundational decisions and actions you need to take include:
Picture your dream-girl before approaching her: Before setting out to date anybody, you need to have a clear picture in your mind of the type of girl you want to date. Do you need a tall fair lady or a slender dark one? Do you want an outspoken lady or an utter introvert? The good old strategy of walking up to any girl you see is not applicable to longterm relationship. You need to draw up what you want from a relationship and who you want to establish this relationship with before setting out to date any lady. You need to ask yourself questions like: Do i just want a fling or a friend with benefit? Do you just want to date and see where the relationship goes or do you want something that might lead to a lifetime relationship? As simple as it may sound, this foundational principle is a giant bedrock upon which all other principles must be laid.
Prepare yourself for the big move: It is needless to say that it is easier to fetch water with a basket than to see a Nigerian lady walk up to you to ask for a date. Naturally, Nigerian ladies love playing hard to get. The frustrating part of their way of thinking is the oral principle that they must give you a negative response after you make your first move. They will ignore you, insult you, disrespect you and in some occasions, they may even slap you. But as a sharp guy, you have to take all these as a pinch of salt. Don’t let it hinder you from achieving your goal.
Dress To Kill: I know you are not going for an interview but you must always remember that first impressions really go a long way in determining the future of any relationship and your dress sense on the first date have a huge role to play in your potential relationship. I am not saying you must bring out your Italian suit but using a massive gear like that will definitely make her see you as her heartthrob even before you say a single word.
You are not here to brag: Your don’t need to make your salary strength the main topic of your first date. Bragging about how you bought a plot of land in Lekki or you shook hands with the Special Assistant to the president will only make the lady see you as a showoff. You need to understand that your first date is just a window for both individuals to know each other better. You can simply summarize your work-life topic into one sentence before laying it to her. If she is impressed by it, she will drag the discussion and if she is not, you whisk off to the next introductory topic you planned to raise.
Take responsibility for the expenses: In every gathering, there is a host. You are the host of your first date. you should take responsibility of the total financial cost of the first date till she insist on making her own payment.
