Shakira is a sight to behold on the latest issue of Billboard Magzine Latin issue.

The singer who has been in the industry for over 10-years talked about the obstacles she has had to overcome since joining the industry. In her words; ‘the path to success has been longer, steeper, with more obstacles than if I had been born in Florida or New York City.’

  ”To be born in Barranquilla and start a career at a time when the pop music scene was almost nonexistent in Colombia.’ She continued saying; ‘was a very hostile environment’ when she began with her ballads and rock songs.  Shakira, who posed on the cover with fellow Colombian singer Maluma continued saying;

  ”And there was no social media back then. I had to travel the entire length of Latin America to make my music known in the beginning, going from radio station to radio station.’
