Professor Akindele, the lecturer who demanded sex from a student in his department in exchange for academic success, has been suspended by the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
Professor Akindele was captured in an audio mobile conversation, demanding five rounds of sex from a female student in his department before he would upgrade her mark from 33 to a pass mark.
A member of the committee, who pleaded anonymity revealed this to the press in Osogbo, the state capital on Wednesday. He disclosed that the disciplinary committee created by the university to probe the matter, recommended an indefinite suspension after accessing the case carefully. The suspension will stand till the final report will be ready.
