Serial Killer Murdered 50 Taxi Drivers And Fed Them To Crocodiles

A serial killer murdered more than 50 taxi drivers and dumped their body in crocodile-infested waters and sold their cabs.

Evil doctor Devender Sharma and his accomplices killed their victims in secluded places and then disposed of the bodies to ensure they were never found.

Police in India say he was finally caught after vanishing while on parole, and he confessed to crimes. But investigators believe Sharma may be responsible for 100 murders. The qualified doctor, now 62, was part of a syndicate which carried out illegal kidney transplants in the early 2000s.

He later admitted carrying out 125 procedures, making a profit of £7,000 each time. After losing money in a scam, he also began leading a group which robbed gas canisters from trucks, often killing drivers.

Deputy police commissioner Rakesh Paweriya told the Times of India that he targeted taxi drivers so they could sell their cars – either in whole or in pieces.

And truck drivers were also killed by the group, he said. The police officer said: “His accomplices robbed trucks carrying LPG cylinders by killing the driver. They unloaded the trucks in his fake gas agency and then the robbed truck would be dismantled in Meerut and the bodies of the drivers were dumped in Hazara Canal, Kashganj which had crocodiles, so there was no chance of retrieval of the bodies.”

He had previously been convicted of seven murders of taxi drivers carried out between 2002 and 2004, and jailed for life in Jaipur in Rajastan. However after 16 years he was granted permission to spend 20 days on parole in Januray.

However he vanished, only to be traced to the home of a widow close to Delhi, local media reports. He said he’d had no intention of returning to jail, and finally confessed to his brutal past.
