Amid the leadership crisis rocking the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP, former Minister of Aviation and Senator representing Anambra North, Stella Oduah has dumped the party to join its enemy and the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
Her defection was announced during a meeting with the caretaker national chairman of the party, Mai Mala Buni today August 26, coming after the defection of the like of Governors Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.
Speaking at the event, the APC Caretaker Chairman promised that she would be granted all the privileges accorded to APC members. “You will enjoy the privileges enjoyed by all members of the party because you will have a waiver”, Buni said.

Giving her reason for defection, Stella Oduah who was was appointed as a member of the PDP campaign council for the Anambra guber election coming up on November 6 said she joined the ruling party because she wants to change the political narrative in the South Eastern region of the country. According to her, her supporters in Anambra are jubilating that she defected from the PDP to the APC.
