Senate Summons The Minister Of Defence, CBN Governor And Mrs Adeosun Over Purchase Of Military Helicopters

The Nigerian Senate has summoned the Honourable Minister of Defence, Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, and the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun to appear before it, to explain why $462 million was released for the purchase of helicopters by the Federal Government without National Assembly’s appropriation.
The senate summoned the trio in today’s meeting after the Nigerian Air Force successfully purchased six fighter helicopters to support the military in the war against insurgency.
They were summoned on the grounds that the money used to purchase the helicopters was not approved by the national assembly.
