Senate Begins Screening Of Lauretta Onochie, Others As INEC Commissioners

President Buhari of the Federal Government of Nigerian has nominated his Special Assistant, Social Media, Lauretta Onochie alongside 5 others as INEC Commissioners and the Nigerian Senate has reportedly begun the screening and confirmation of same.
Recall that the President had in October 2020 forwarded Lauretta Onochie’s name as a National Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to the Senate for Screening and subsequent confirmation.Lauretta OnochieThe President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan today Wednesday then forwarded Onochie’s name and five others as Federal Commissioners to Senator Kabiru Gaya, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kano South led Senate Committee on INEC, giving the committee two weeks to carry out legislative action on the list and give a report at Plenary.
