Reports just surfaced that Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have broken up after about 10 months of dating. It became apparent that things were definitely over after the Selena was seen attending church with Justin Bieber on Sunday. Fans were sure not expecting this news because of PDA showed by the two since they were spotted kissing outside L.A. hotspot Giorgio Baldi in January.
Can they ever be a power couple like the pair at the Met Gala again! According to E! The Weeknd at first was like “this is fine, what deviant undertakings can possibly occur in the House of God,” but apparently he’s since rethought his stance.
Not only was Bieber photographed hanging out at Gomez’s house last weekend, they were also spotted enjoying breakfast at JOi Cafe in Westlake Village, Calif., on Sunday—just a few days after Gomez and The Weeknd called it quits.
A source told E! News, “Abel (The Weeknd) is upset about Selena hanging out with Justin, especially twice in the same week.”
According to People Gomez’s family is rather alarmed by the return of Bieber, even if their brunching and church-attending is in fact totally platonic.
Other sources claim that Selena ultimately decided it would be best if they broke up.
“The distance was ok in the beginning and they were trying to make it work but then Selena really needed more than what The Weeknd could give her. She needed him more present. The fights were not huge just happening more often as time went on,” one source shared.
Another insider added, ” Selena and Abel both agreed that this relationship wasn’t going to work due to his busy schedule, but Selena was the one who wanted to end it. She didn’t feel secure while he was away, and the schedule conflicts got very exhausting for her.”
